2024 EB Day 19 - The End!

Breakfast at Lou Mitchell’s is the traditional start or finish of Down Under on Route 66.

Where one egg is two and two eggs are four!

Chicago is a city of contrasts and her best side is viewed from the water.

Not even our first rain affected day of the trip could dampen the magnificence of the architecture of buildings towering above as we quietly slipped along under bridges.

Despite the rain we bused up and down Michigan Ave from our base at Congress Plaza Hotel to explore.

The 360 Chicago Sip n View was only half an activity.

Plenty of sip and no view!

We were so high up we had our heads in the clouds and the bar lived up to its name… Oh well!! (Hint! - that white, rain textured background behind the text is not photoshop!)

Nothing to see, so we sipped and then slipped back down the 94 floors.

A couple of final trip snaps, the finish sign in Jackson St…

…and an impromptu version en route to dinner at the start in Adams St.

Our final supper was at Rosati’s, dining on classic Chicago style pizza…

It’s the end of the road for this group and our larrikin Bob, wasn’t missing his chance to say thanks to Robyn.

Signing off for the last time from the Eastbound 2024 routers!

PS Bob, Robyn’s already married and you’re engaged. Del is sure one lucky girl, waiting back in NZ for your return.
