Dennis at Ace Signs gave us a personal tour of company his grandfather began in the 1940s.

It’s a brilliant story woven into the frantic of Route 66 thanks to his family embracing their past and building a future.

Old neons, some restored, some as they remain, line the walls of their operational graphics department.

An original ‘32 taxicab still has the handiwork of his grandfather on the door.

The team at Ace Signs is behind the amazing display saw last night at the Fairgrounds.

Even their own office building has a fitting story, restored and reinstated into life.

Our life out on the road is on the 55 which lies alongside and often over the earliest alignments…

…past well presented gas stations…

And a stage coach, in honour of Abe Lincoln, in Lincoln, where he first practiced law.

Another gas station in the same town had a secret drop box for Al Capone to pay for fuel on his moonshine runs, south from Chicago.

Kevin has the store chocked full of cool old stuff, ready to be snapped up and whisked back to the land of Oz!

The city office has a phone box… on the roof… so brave tornado spotters could hole up, to alert incoming twisters.

On to Atlanta and local tourism aficionado Scott McCoy drops by to chat about what’s happening with American Giants.

It’s a new display, highlighting (pun intended!) some of the largest attractions on the road.

From a sleepy little town with one giant…

Atlanta now has three… with more on the way!

There will be need for care when crossing the street in future!

Nearby at Funks Grove, there was tasting and buying of bourbon infused maple sirip…

…produced by the Funk family for several generations.

The trees provide the perfect cover to sample the air under the canopy… away from the sun.

A quick whirl around David Davis mansion in Bloomington and our day is done.

Except for dinner at Epiphany Farm restaurant, a farm to plate experience, guaranteed to leave an impression!
