2023 EB Day 3 - Vegas by Day

Our day in Vegas started with breakfast at the famous Peppermill Restaurant, complete with its sunken fire pit lounge (hopefully for a different time of the day or night!) and luxurious booth seating for everyone.

Austin Craig is the master of information all things Carroll Shelby and he gave us a special insight to the man who made the name so famous.

This was certainly a two hour highlight for the day.

We were especially lucky to have a few minutes with Vince Laviolette (head of ops and senior designer) The man responsible for Shelby design took time to explain where he's thinking for future Shelbys - three years down the track.

The Outet Shopping bore little fruit, but it was 'quality' not 'quantity'!

After regrouping and a top up at In N Out Burger we jumped a couple of cabs to the old district.

This part of town includes Fremont St is where it all started for Las Vegas when J T McWilliams laid out the original plan. I'm sure JT wouldn't recognise it today - a place full of contradiction everywhere you look. Still an experience not to be missed - at least once!

Back at our digs for the night, Ron contemplated a switch of his rental Mustang for a Hertz Shelby resting in the forecourt. As we learnt earlier this is one of a special few built by Shelby for the Hertz rental fleet!
