Good coffee isn't a specialty in USA but at Mother Road Coffee in Carthage we think it's possibly the best so far.
That was the kick start needed for a visit to Red Oak II, that rebuilt, relocated old town artist Lowell Davis is responsible for.

It's a little quirky... a little whacky and you wonder why, until you meet the man and then it all seems quite plausible.

Lowell entertained us with stories of his life, also captured in his illustrated books, figurines and amazing metal artwork.

Further east is the Spencer Gas Station. Not much business being done these days but before the bypass it would surely have been an important stop that led to Gay Parita.

That's the place where Gary Turner's daughter Barb and other half George have now committed to continuing the family tradition.
Gary could talk for ever about his old gas station in minute detail and George hardly misses a beat too.
It's fascinating to hear the old yarns!

No Homer at Springfield Missouri, but the Bass Pro shop was a distraction while we explored the biggest 'Hunting, Fishing & More' store in USA.

Some slipped off into town for some 'other' shopping while the rest were on the i65 to Branson. Four lanes leading to a town with a population of 11,000 and considered the entertainment capital of USA.
It's been described as Las Vegas without the girls and gambling, and the shows and 'strip' lined with attractions including the Titanic, Ripley's Believe It Or Not, and the Auto & Farm Museum, certainly backs that theory up.

We lined up at SIX where the six brothers perform incredible a cappella. They also own six matching Camaros in different coloured trim.

We were given VIP parks to ensure our seven 'stangs' watched over them during a performance and Down Under On Route 66 was even were given an honourable mention in the show!...

We'd wrap up our day 13 with coffee down near the water's edge at Branson Landing.
