Breakfast at Mr D'z in Kingman started our fifth
day east bound on Route 66.
Leaving the El Trovatore our six Mustangs beat a track west across Arizona. The i40 turned into the old road and we were soon weaving our way on and off as much of it as we could find.

Hackberry is a popular stop, a general store, seemingly in the middle of nowhere... but full of old road merchandise which was swallowed up into the Mustang trunks (that would be 'boot' for those down under!)
On to Seligman for lunch. You need some time here, after all this is the birthplace of the Historic Route 66, the movement that's seen the evolution of the adventure we're on.

It's all due to Angel who rallied the troops in Arizona to show every other state what could be achieved. Dean and Rachel had a birthday card to hand to Angel for his 90th birthday from the Ian at Dan's Route 66 stall at Santa Monica and they met the real deal!
Through a derelict Ashfork and on to the Wild West Junction in Williams - our day's destination, so we checked out the themed rooms (no disappointments here), had a look around town and then shot out to the South Rim
We caught the iMax movie at Tusayan, the best way to see the Grand Canyon.

Sunset wasn't spectacular thanks to the cloud
but we got the idea when it poked it's head
through... and the wind made our picnic dinner
on the edge a little breezy.... it's been a long day!
